Heart Rate and other Cardiovascular measurements |
|||||||||
Heart Rate may be obtained from EKG (ECG), measured with electrodes to detect the electrical signal around the heart, or peripheral pulse measured with a photoplethysmograph transducer, which detects blood flow, usually in the finger or on the earlobe. Examples of PCC measurement template files for experiments using these measures. PSYLAB SAM has two special modes for timing inter-beat-interval measured from ECG using the BioAmplifier and Pulse measured wuth the PPA amplifier. The timed interval may be expressed as voltage change on one of the analogue output channels, allowing a cardio-tachometer function when used in stand-alone mode. Used with PSYLAB software, inter-beat interval may be measured by analysing the ECG or pulse wave, in addition to the internally timed I.B.I, converted to Heart Rate as measured by SAM. |
