Dr Christian Grillon studies startle at Yale University School of Medicine. Complex conditioning paradigms were set up using CS+ and CS- stimulus with varying probe delay from stimulus onset. Tones, computer generated pictures, and colored light bulbs were used. Aversive shocks were paired with CS+ stimuli during the acquisition phase.
